I've learned a lot this week...
Logan told me in the car that Madden has a "fan-uh- me- uh" he doesn't play with the same thing. He just keeps changing what he wants to do. Logan surprised me this week by counting to 100. He needed help with the decades, but is relatively solid with the other numbers.
Madden has reminded me that quiet= BIG TROUBLE! Logan was much less troublesome when he was smaller. I have to remember to check the trash EVERY time I open it up, and have to keep my ears pealed ALWAYS! My littlest imp is very busy. He filled the toilet with kleenex, got his own Strawberry Quik and ate it with a spoon on the couch, helped feed the cats by dumping their food into the water bowl, and he finds ANY cups that are left in the house.

Ringing in the New Year
We went to the Ney's annual New Year's Eve bash. Logan took off and we never saw him again. Hey played with Reighley and Colleen and also with Morgan (who was kind enough to play Hi-Ho Cherry-O with him too). Madden LOVED climbing up and down the stairs, and slamming doors. All in all, they had a great time. We didn't stay to see the ball drop, but made it home just in the nick of time.

Ho Ho Ho!!!
Christmas at the Dix house was a busy and happy affair. It began late because we were all so sleepy from Christmas Eve at Uncle Steve's house. We were up and ready to go by 9:30. Logan came downstairs and said "Santa brought me stuff because I wasn't naughty" Too sweet! Logan was immediately begging to open presents, and Madden couldn't have cared less.

We rushed to get ready to go to MawMaw and PawPaw's house, and just made it to see Aunt Becca, Uncle Daniel, Harper, and Garrison before they left to go to KY. At MawMaw's house, Logan was thrilled to get more presents, and Madden was happy to see his old toys. The big hit was the Science kit Logan got... he made a volcano!

A few Christmas Awwws...
Logan (while standing on the arm of the couch putting ornaments on the tree) "Disney was fun, but this is REALLY fun." *heart* that kid!
Logan told my mom he was glad to help her put on her ornaments because "it is fun to help friends"
Mr. Madden has started to scrunch his nose and squint his eyes at me right before he does something he knows he shouldn't do.
GRRR!!!!

Really... Almost 2 years?!?!?
Ok, so anyone who knows me knows that I struggle to stick to things... especially once they are not in the front of my mind. This blog is one of those things. I am REALLY wanting to keep up with it this time. There are too many things that I don't record and the thought of losing those little memories breaks my heart. SOOOOO, since I am trying to keep up with a school blog, I am going to try to keep up with this one too. Maybe not so many pictures, but maybe memories and stories more.

GUILTY!
I am guilty of lettings things go... what with Facebook, I seem to forget that I have this blog to keep up with. But it occurred to me that I need to do this so I have a record of life :).
MIssed Milestones:
Getting on the plane to go to FLA... Logan's mouth began to work. from his "hee wee go" to O becca, unc dug, ice ice babee, and all of the disney characters as well as BUS, he was a chatter the entire time, and he hasn't stopped once. He wouldn't walk down the aisle at the wedding... he wouldn't even put his tux on. It was HOT HOT HOT though and since he is a little furnace like his daddy it is understandable.
His birthday cake was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (could have been EEYORE... his favorite toy, but MMCH won out!) He had a great birthday :)
Summer flew by with a trip to the lake and MANY MANY visits to the park and playing in our pool in the yard. He loves the water!
At the end of July we went to DC to visit his new cousin, Harper. Logan liked the baby, but LOVED the attention of Unc Doug and Aunt Kim who, along with MaMa and PaPa took him to the park at least twice a day. He also got to swim in the pool at the hotel and learned to recognize the Capitol. He now has a book with the landmarks and can recognize many of them. He also knows the President's name and face. Unc Doug LOVED the fact that Logan could order his food at IHOP :dausage, eggs, gancakes and boobies. Mommy calls it the Rooty Jr.
Since school started, park visits diminished (except for with MaMa who sometimes took him to 3 parks in a day). He has learned to use the mini-dvd player... knows MANY letters of the alphabet... can sing it... can count to 13 consistently,,, name at least 8 basic shapes... name the colors... navigate the Playhouse Disney website... sing MANY MANY songs... and take off his clothes!
We went to see both the Wiggles and Disney on Ice in the fall, and after some adjustment, LOVED IT!
We wend to Ohio in November to see Unc Doug and Aunt Kim. We cooked food and also went to their zoo. The tiger got so close to us and that is one of Logan's favorite memories. He also remembers that the elephants were "a mess"... they had hay on their backs. AND he can still talk about the water park at UncDoug's zoo. Logan obviously didn't go, but he remembers none the less.
Logan also enjoyed seeing Santa 3 times (at the mall and at Christmas lights... who he calls new santa, and mommy calls LAME!) His Christmas was wonderful. He got his fun car... and drove to Target (to get green apples) the "gocery store" to get red apples, the bookshtore and a est-u-want.
Some if his favorite things are: talking on the phone, CARS, going to Target to play with the balls, going to MaMaPaPa's house,a and jumping on the bed.
I am sure I have forgotten MANY MANY things that make me smile about him, but this was our past almost year in a nutshell.

Playing at the park
We had some great weather days this weekend, so we went to the "bark". Logan can climb the slide all by himself! He shows up bigger kids all the time!

SNOW DAYS!!!
We had a few snow days late in January. The first day, there was just a little snow, and Logan had a blast walking in it and sliding down the front hill. The second day, the snow was much deeper, and he HATED everything about it.
Hair Cut
On January 22, I had to bite the bullet and get Logan's hair cut. He generally looked more like he had a mullet than cute curls. He hated the process, and I hated the hair cut. It grew on me... but I still miss those curls!

Christmas 2008
Sorry, Thanksgiving... I am too busy cooking to participate in picture taking, and I never get the pictures that others take of Logan, so... I have to jump to Christmas. Mr. Logan had a HUGE Christmas, of which he loved very few of the presents. He would have rathered crawl in his box or slide down his slide. He also had an abundance of uncles and Aunt Rebecca to play with. Logan LOVED playing Guitar Hero with Daddy's busted guitar :).

Boo At The Zoo
What a nightmare!!! We went to Boo At The Zoo thinking it would be a day at the zoo with costumes. NOPE! It was a mass of humanity standing in lines to get free stuff, and blocking people who just wanted to see the zoo. Oh, well. You live and learn. So... the problem with trying to photograph wild life is that it constantly MOVES! Including the elusive blue eyed monkey. It was a drag trying to catch it on film! The hippo was very active and swam around and around. We also got to see the baby tigers again. They are almost as big as mom is! At the end of the slide show, look at what poor curly headed people have to deal with in the am. Horrible Bed Head!

THE LAKE... Summer '08
Okay... so it is a little late, but here are the pictures from the lake in the summer. We went to visit Aunt Net and Jim at the Ozarks. Logan got to play with Paddy, horses, and even a camel (thanks to their friend Wendy). We went to the Elks for dinner one night, and Logey LOVED the corn. Aunt Net also took us for Logan's first boat ride. He fell asleep at the wheel.

Halloween
For Halloween we went to both Grant's Farm and Purina Farms. Logan had a great time both places. Later, he went to the Pumpkin Patch with Grandma, Lynn and Devin. He came home filthy, but he obviously had a great time :).

Logan Turns 1
Wow, how the year flew! Logan turned 1 on May 31. The popular little man had a few parties in his honor. The first was a family party over Memorial Day weekend. He was cruising all over the place with hands from his aunts and uncles ... it's only a matter of time! Once he got a little assistance from mom figuring out the birthday cake situation, he dove right in, getting some delicious dessert for his tummy as well as using the icing to fingerpaint an impressionistic scene on the antique dining room table, much to the delight of the aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents in attendance.

Logan goes to California
Logan and Mommy went to California in June. We went to Auntie Jill's house first. We went to Disneyland (and didn't see Mickey or anybody. Logan rode a few rides, went to see a show and had his first frozen lemonade. We drove to Santa Barbara to see Aunt Wendy and Uncle Pete. Logan took a tour of the Prissidio (a fort)and ate lunch on the pier. Logan loved the beach... and the freezing cold ocean. Mommy's legs were numb, but Logey was tummy deep in the water and wanted to go deeper. We took the train back to Fullerton. We went to the aquarium and lost the pacifier (mommy was mad because it was probably her fault) and Logan got bit by a Lorrikeet. He was a big boy though, and he didn't even cry. Our last day we drove by the beach and ate lunch on another pier.
Our Little Tadpole
Logan LOVES to swim and play in the water. He got a frog pool from Aunt Denise and GUS for his birthday. Mix that with some bath toys, and you have a fun afternoon.
